This product is suitable for skaters of all levels. For beginners, it is recommended to take a few classes to learn the basic skating techniques (braking, skating, falling safely, turning etc…). The product does not have a braking system. To brake, you can use the "plow stop" technique: put pressure on the outer quarters of your skates to make you lose speed. For better comfort, it is also recommended to wear high socks with Slades roller skates.

The use of the product is not recommended for people with disorders that affect mobility or reflexes.

Warning: for maximum safety, always wear protective gear (helmet, knee pads, elbow pads, wrist guards...) and a reflective device.

Upon reception and before every use you have to check that:

The wheels are well tightened (13 mm socket wrench)

x

The toe stops are well tightened, with a minimum space of 1 cm between the ground and the tip of the toe stops (22 mm wrench)

x

The pivot pin lock nuts are well tightened (14 mm wrench)

x

The trucks are well tightened (14 mm socket or flat wrench). For your safety and comfort while roller skating, feel free to adjust the action nuts at your convenience. A loose nut can endanger you and damage the chassis.

x

In order to increase the duration of your toe stops, turn them regularly to wear them out uniformly.

Action nuts should be inspected to ensure that they are always tight. We recommend that at least 2 threads be allowed to protrude below the action nut. No metal parts should move freely when the plate is properly adjusted.

Avoid

- Steep inclines (harder to brake and control your speed)
- Wet and slippery surfaces where the grip between your wheels and the ground could be compromised. These surfaces also affect your braking and water is bad for your bearings
- Skating near roads and cars, choose lanes dedicated to pedestrians

Be aware of your surroundings. Watch out for pedestrians when skating and always be prepared to come to a sudden stop. Hard or poorly controlled braking can cause damages not covered by the warranty.

Be familiar with local laws wherever you roll. Flaneurz (Slades parent company) cannot be held responsible for legal issues related to the practice of roller skating. No modifications that could affect safety should be made.
