THESE SNEAKERS THAT STAND THE TEST OF TIME
All sneaker brands are characterized by their iconic models. Today, we are reviewing the most legendary cuts from Adidas and Puma, diving back into the history of their creation.
/The sporty look with the timeless three stripes

Stan Smith, Superstar, but also Forum, Profi, or Pro model, the sneaker brand with three stripes boasts more than one iconic silhouette.

About twenty years after the creation of the Profi, Adidas designs the Forum model. Born in 1984, it is part of the Adidas models designed for basketball. In its category, it is the first pair to be sold in three cuts: low, mid, and high. Unlike the classic Adidas Stan Smith, the Forum runs larger to ensure optimal comfort and performance on the court. In its high version, this sneaker is adorned with leather around the ankle, intended to stretch over time to make the pair even more comfortable. The adjustable Velcro strap is designed to provide players with support and stability.
In 1984, Michael Jordan established it as an iconic silhouette of the 80s by wearing them during the United States Olympic Trials. Throughout history, many artists have contributed to the revival of this reference: Bad Bunny, Kerwin Frost, and Jain.
At Flaneurz, the white leather Adidas Profi and the Adidas Forum White are reinvented as detachable roller skates, ready to be discovered with the Ready-to-Roll offert and Change Your Shoes Collection.
/VOYAGE CALIFORNIEN EN PUMA

The brand with the leaping feline, founded in 1948, also positions itself in the market for sneakers intended for sports practice.
In 1983, she collaborates with tennis player Guillermo Vilas and launches her Puma California sneaker line. The idea is to attract tennis players with a comfortable pair that ensures the optimization of their performance. Puma then adopts a specific manufacturing process: the California method, dating back to the American Civil War.
At that time, women worked in factories in place of the men who had gone to war. Lacking the necessary strength to operate the assembly machines, the female workers developed a handmade manufacturing technique that only required a sewing machine. Thus, the shoe is made up of only two parts: the upper part of the sneaker and the sole. The upper is worked inside out and initially sewn to the lining, then assembled to the sole.
More than 100 years later, this manufacturing process is adopted by the shoe industry. Puma equips itself with a spraying machine to imitate this unique manufacturing method in a modern version. The Puma California tennis shoes achieve great success on clay courts before falling into obscurity to make way for other classic styles such as the Puma Suede or Thunder.
The California lineage was reborn in 2019 with a modern look and a new face of the brand: Selena Gomez. A new identity emerged: the name was shortened to "Puma Cali," featuring new designs adorned with a thick platform sole in line with 2010s trends, and a wide variety of colorways. In recent years, retro charm has captivated many sneakerheads. The success of models like the New Balance 550, the Adidas Forum, and of course, the countless variations of the Puma Cali, only confirms this.
Meanwhile, the Puma Carina is a recent model introduced in 2019, whose predecessor is none other than the famous Puma California line. It carries over the retro-vintage look of the California, enhanced by a thick rubber sole. This women's-exclusive sneaker is also inspired by the vibe of Californian coastal towns in the '80s. The Carina features SoftFoam+ technology in the insole to provide flexibility, superior cushioning, and maximum comfort.
The sneakers from the Cali collection have captivated the Flaneurz team since our first official collaboration with Puma. We reimagined them as detachable roller skates so you can roam the city in style. Understated style with the Puma Cali Kaki Beige, or a festival of colors with the Puma Cali Multicolore White?
